How do you pronounce ENGIE?

ENGIE is said like 'N-Gee'.

Who owns ENGIE?

ENGIE Energy International is a multinational electricity generation company that is a wholly owned subsidiary of the French company ENGIE (formerly GDF Suez)

When did ENGIE enter Australia?

Globally, ENGIE have been driving innovation for more than 180 years and has owned Simply Energy for more than a decade.

Today, ENGIE owns and operates renewable energy generation assets, and battery storage systems in Australia, and is rolling out electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across major cities in Vic, NSW, Qld and SA.

What infrastructure is ENGIE invested in?

In Australia, ENGIE, was the first to close it's coal-fired power station and has a focusing on diversifying generation capacity and investing in renewable energy for the future.

Will this impact my account details, energy plan and pricing?

No, for existing customers your account details, energy plan and pricing all remain the same. There is nothing you need to do to transfer your details.   

Does this change how and when I pay my bill?

No, you can continue to pay the way you do now. The payment cards you may use now can still be used after the change.

Your billing frequency will stay the same, if you currently receive monthly bills you will continue to receive monthly bills. You will continue to receive paper bills if you currently do so.

Does this change how I manage my energy usage?

You can continue to view your energy usage in MyAccount and, if you have previously opted in to do so, you'll still be able to monitor your usage through Tracker.

Does this change how I can get in contact with customer service?

All contact methods remain exactly the same, and can be found on our contact page

Will this impact my Tracker service?

No. Your Tracker service will continue to run as usual.

Does this impact where my information and data are stored?

No. 

Will this change how I log into MyAccount?

MyAccount will soon be changing to MyENGIE. If you are an existing MyAccount user you will need to register to MyENGIE. This won't happen until after we become ENGIE, so nothing to do yet. We will let you know when it's time to download the new app.

Is there anything I need to do?

There is no action required from you. All your details and services will remain the same.

When will this change be happening?

Simply Energy will become ENGIE in 2024.
